How does yacht share ownership work?

Yacht share ownership allows you to enjoy the benefits of owning a luxury yacht without the full financial and operational burden. Instead of purchasing an entire vessel, you acquire a defined share, which gives you guaranteed access to the yacht for a set number of days or weeks each year.

Neptune Oceanic structures each ownership group carefully, ensuring a limited number of owners per yacht. This means availability is reliable, scheduling is fair, and the yacht is never overused. Usage is managed through a transparent booking system that balances peak and off peak periods across all owners.

How much time do I get each year?

Each 1/8 share provides 6 weeks of guaranteed annual usage, plus unlimited flexi-day access. This time is allocated evenly throughout the year, including The Whitsundays. Other share levels increase allocations.

Where is the vessel located?

All vessels are berthed at our managed marinas on the Gold Coast or Airlie Beach for the Whitsundays season.

Who maintains the yacht?

Our in-house team and marine engineer handle all maintenance, cleaning, and detailing to Riviera factory standards. We have direct servicing contracts with Volvo and Cummins. We are BIA members committed to upholding marine industry standards, offering peace of mind that your investment is secure.

Can I sell my share later?

Absolutely. We assist with resale and marketing. Yacht shares retain strong resale value when maintained under Neptune Oceanic’s expert maintenance schedules.

Should I arrange a survey of the vessel?

We believe true luxury begins with trust. That’s why we invite independent marine surveys on all our vessels.

Do I need a boat licence?

Yes. A current recreational boat licence is required if you wish to self-drive. If you prefer not to operate the vessel yourself, we can arrange a qualified skipper for you – in that case, no licence is needed
